Subject: AMLA Regulation: Direct Supervision of Selected Obliged Entities – Submission of information
Purpose: To inform Regulated Entities for a new obligation to submit information pursuant to AMLA Regulation.
In Summary:
CySEC has issued the Circular C748 on 31/12/2025 to inform Cyprus Investment Firms (‘CIFs’), Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (‘UCITS’), UCITS Management Companies, Variable Capital Investment Companies, Alternative Investment Fund Managers (‘AIFMs’), Small AIFMs, Sub-threshold AIFMs, Alternative Investment Funds (‘AIFs’), Registered Alternative Investment Funds (‘RAIFs’), Alternative Investment Funds with limited number of persons (‘AIFLNP’) and the Crypto-Asset Services Providers (‘CASPs’), for a new Form that Regulated Entities must complete and submit to CySEC regarding an exercise pursuant to Section 3 of the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism and amending Regulations (EU) No 1093/2010, (EU) No 1094/2010 and (EU) No 1095/2010 (the ‘AMLA Regulation’).
CySEC reminds the Regulated Entities that the AMLA Regulation entered into force in June 2024 and is applicable from July 2025.
Pursuant to Section 3 (Direct supervision of selected obliged entities) of the AMLA Regulation, the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (the ‘AMLA’), in collaboration with financial supervisors of the National Competent Authorities (the ‘NCAs’), shall carry out a periodic assessment of credit and financial institutions, and groups of credit institutions and financial institutions, where they operate, whether through establishments or under the freedom to provide services, in at least six Member States, including the home Member State, regardless of whether the activities are carried out through infrastructure on the territory concerned or remotely.
To facilitate the exercise mentioned above, CySEC informs the Regulated Entities for the release of a new Form (the ‘Form’).
The Form must be completed and successfully submitted to CySEC, by all Regulated Entities that were authorised by 31/12/2024. In this respect, Regulated Entities that were authorised by 31/12/2024, but have not made use of their authorisation must also submit the Form.
The Form must be successfully submitted via email to the address risk.statistics@cysec.gov.cy, by Friday, 09/01/2026, the latest.
